It’s all about helping women right across Greater Manchester. Anyone who needs funding to change their lives for the better can apply- (no, that doesn’t include an all-expenses paid shopping trip to New York, sorry). They may be women who’ve been held back by a lack of qualifications, a deprived background, or even a violent relationship. Often, they’ll need some help to get a leg up on life’s slippery ladder, and achieve their goal. That could be finishing a college course that will help them get a career going, learning new skills that will help them to cope more easily, helping them to find suitable work, or even setting them up in a safe place where the past can’t hurt them.

The Birdhouse Fund can help individual women with grants of up to £500. Birds who are interested in accessing the fund just need to complete a brief application, describing their situation and identifying the one thing that would help them move forward. Applications will then be considered by a selection of women involved in raising the funding, who will make the decisions based on a very fair and open process.

It’s all about ‘helping ordinary people do extraordinary things’, making a real difference at grass roots level, and ensuring its women who are taking the lead in making this happen. Making a difference in a natural female and nurturing way.
